The day is August 7th and though the date may not be significant for some, for Mark and Sara it is their anniversary. This year they decided to do something simple for their anniversary and went out for a nice dinner with a few close friends.
After exchanging a few nostalgic memories and finishing their meals, Mark and Sara decide it was time to exchange gifts. The couple unwraps the gifts they selected for each other, and it was clear to see that the box Sara was opening contained jewelry. Much to everyone's surprise, the box was empty revealing only two slots where earrings might stand.
Sara, with a hint of confusion on her face, looked over at Mark. Mark is all smile as he asks the waiter to bring out his wife's actual gift. The server then comes with an enormous box and sets it down by Sara.
With much curiosity brewing, Sara anxiously opens the large gift. As she removed the content of the box however, she was again struck with a shock of confusion because in the box was a very big black teddy bear.
Smiles and laughter soon surround the table as clearly Mark was achieving his playful goal. After just a few short moments however, someone points to the bear and excitedly exclaimed "look at the ears!" Sara couldn't hold back the smiles as she sees the box's missing diamond stud earrings she had talked about for so long but was too humble to buy herself.
With a happy tear running down her face, she embraced her husband and thanked him for a wonderful gift and more so, a loving memory.
