Michael and Amy are especially spry as today marks their 10th wedding anniversary. The couple, anticipating the event, have already set up babysitting arrangements with Amy's parents and made 8:00 p.m. reservations at Alexandra's; an upscale restaurant that the two greatly enjoy but usually reserve going to for only very special occasions. As the sun starts to set, the couple begins getting ready, dressing in nice evening apparel. By 6:30 p.m., Amy is ready for her evening out.
Michael, on the other hand, is still ironing his suit. As such, he asks Amy to take the kids to her parents first and then to come back for him so the two can leave to the restaurant together. Amy, with no reason to deny him, follows her husbands request. Amy got the children to her parents, and the evening went just as planned with the couple enjoying a very nice meal as expected. As their evening out drew to a close, the couple made their way back home.
Once home, Amy started straight for the bedroom so she could change into more comfortable clothing. Before she could make it quite there however, Michael jumped ahead "Wait!" and said "Give me five minute and I'll come back and get you. No peeking!" Amy, though anxious now to see inside, obliged and took a seat outside the bedroom while Michael hurried inside.
After a few minutes went by, anticipation multiplying by the second, Michael finally comes outside to lead his wife into the bedroom. As the two crept closer and the lump in Amy chest started pounding, they made it to the bedroom where a faint glow could be made out under the door.
When she finally walked in, she was absolutely awe stricken. The room was enveloped in a flood of red and white, purple and pink bouquets, and the bed and floor were draped with rose petals. All of this ignited by a sea of hundreds of tea light candles.
Mesmerized by the stunning night lit garden, Amy turned to her husband. Gently taking his wife's hand, he confesses to his wife that every day he grows more in love with her than the last and that being by her side he is the most proud man in the world. Tears streaming down Amy's face, Michael slowly take one knee and with a soft smile says "Amy, will you continue to fill my heart with happiness and marry me again?" As he spoke his honest, loving words, he opened a box he had been carrying in his pocket and revealed a ring.
With barely the words to speak, Amy broke out a light "of course" and fell into her husbands open arms. The happy couple later renewed their wedding vows and honeymooned all over again, but nothing could ever compete with the magical night she spent with her husband; surrounded by a garden of handpicked roses and a blanket of candle lit stars.
**Note: It is not necessary to follow all the directions as stated and are only explained as such for ease of use. Alterations to, or inspirations from, any romantic ideas are very welcome and encouraged.
1. Once you have everything you need, set up an evening out with you wife for your anniversary.
2. When she either isn't home or is out doing an errand you asked her to run, set up the bedroom.
3. Once you are back from you night out, ask your wife not to follow you just yet and go into the bedroom.
4. Light the candles. (There are likely many candles, so it might be a wise idea to use a lighter to speed things up.)
5. Now, lead her to the bedroom, speak some honest and loving words, and get down on one knee.
* Now is the perfect time to renew your wedding vows! It's not only fun, but is a beautiful and romantic tribute of your continued devotion to one another.
* Don't forget the second honeymoon!
