It's valentines day morning and Victoria is just waking up. As she rolled over to check on James, however, she saw in his stead only the end to a large red ribbon. She got up quickly as she noticed the ribbon went all the way under her bedroom door.
After opening her door however, she found that the ribbon just kept on going. She followed the ribbon out of her room, down the stairs, around the kitchen, and through the living room until she met up with yet another door; her back door. Hoping this time to find the end of the ribbon, she opened the door.
Sure enough as she opened the door, the end of the ribbon was tied in a magnificent bow attached to the tree. Right under the shade of the tree James sat smiling with an empty breakfast tray. She went up to him, obviously confused about the ribbon and breakfast tray, but he told her simply to remove the envelope from the bow. Sure enough, she hadn't noticed the envelope attached to the center of bow. So she took the envelope, which felt like it had change in it, and opened it.
She then pulled the card out and read the humorous note James wrote inside; Love ain't cheap these days, so if you want any this valentines you're going to have to pay the toll! Victoria gave a light chuckle at James's little joke and removed the coins.
She was shocked however, when the coins she removed were actually little pewter tokens with inscriptions on each. The tokens read: "good for one hug," "good for one kiss," "good for one roll in the hay," "good for one massage," and "good for breakfast in bed."
This time she actually laughed as she now understood why James was holding a breakfast tray. She smiled as she thanked him for the very thoughtful valentines day gift and said she wanted to cash in one of her tokens right away... The couple skipped breakfast that morning.
**Note: It is not necessary to follow all the directions as stated and are only explained as such for ease of use. Alterations to, or inspirations from, any romantic ideas are very welcome and encouraged.
1. Before valentines day, write a cute note, suggestive of the gift, and place both the card and tokens in the envelope.
2. On valentines day, wake up early and run a large ribbon from the bed to a tree in the backyard. The more twists and turns the better!
3. Next, tie the ribbon into a bow around the tree and tape the envelope to the center.
4. Take a seat under the tree with the breakfast tray in hand.
5. Now just sit back, relax, and enjoy breakfast!
* Make sure she sees the envelope!
